More of the cutest nephew

My nephew had to go home today. He left a couple hours ago. He was very good today and ate all his salad for lunch, so I took him into town to get a donut!

There is a rope in our front yard that hangs out of a tree and Tristan loved to swing on it...

I am going to miss having him out here! I will definitely ask my sister to have him again!
!!!xoxoxox!!! I love you Tris!!!

The end of the yard sale...:)

At the end of the nine hours that we did the yard sale today we all felt like this...

Miss Joy and Miss Marlene helped out tremendously today! They did all the pricing and sat out by the tables of yard sale stuff all day.

Counting the money at the end of the yard sale.

More yard sale....

Well, the yard sale has now been going on for six and a half hours! We have had a lot of fun. My mom woke me up at nine this morning to take some pictures of it...

We had one box of free stuff and stuck Corby in it just for fun!!

Miss Mala had her guitar out and played songs for the kids to dance to...

Well, that's it for now. I'm sure I'll have more pictures to post later on today!

Yard sale

Tomorrow morning starting at 6am we are going to have a yard sale. Miss Joy and Marlene came out today to price stuff for it. They just got done! We started out not really having anything but now we have boxes and boxes full of stuff! Tons of people gave things to us to sell. I really hope we meet people here in the neighborhood. Right now my mom is making signs to put up tonight. Well, I did a ton of blogging today and now I had better get off the computer and put my nephew to bed!! Goodnight!!

Memphis boredom...

This is what we do when we get bored out here in Memphis...

My brother piled up all the leaves in our yard today and pulled the picnic table up to it and dove into it. He called me out to take some pictures of him. He had loads of fun too!!

The cutest nephew in the world!!

My nephew is staying out here with me this weekend and my sister took a picture of us wearing our gray hoodys yesterday. I have had a lot of fun with him and he has had loads of fun out here too! Right now he is watching the movie Tonka. He loves it! He started watching it last night and is finishing it up now. He was so cute last night. In the middle of the movie his mother called and he was talking to her. I got a couple cute pictures of him!

Before he went to bed last night, I took some pictures of him getting his energy out. He was being hilarious!!

With his sword.

We told him to be handsome and this is what he did!

       Showing me his muscles!!

       Making a funny face.

Scones

My sister was out here yesterday for a singing practice and we, well mostly she, made some raspberry/blueberry scones. Well, I guess I did help some...I mixed together the wet ingredients! I took some pictures of them while she was making them and after they were done.

They were soooo delicious!! Everybody fell in love with them. It was hard not to eat a lot of them.

Hawaii!!! :) :) :) !!!!

My dad bought our tickets for Hawaii today!! We are set to leave the 3rd of December...just three weeks from this Thursday!!! :) :) :) We are very, sooo very excited!! We will be gone a minimum of 10 days, returning on the 13th, but we will be able to stay longer if we want to without paying extra!!. Wow!! I still can't believe that we are really going and have a date and tickets!!

!!More of Memphis life!!

This Saturday, 11/14, my mom is doing a yard sale. She has been collecting things to sell for a couple weeks now and others in the Gatehouse are helping donate things to sell too. A couple ladies from the village are coming out Saturday morning to price things and help get things moving. We are excited and hope that this will help us to reach out more to the people in our neighborhood and get to know them.
In two weeks, 11/21, we are going to be doing the moves/switching houses. I am very excited about that too!
On the 22nd of this month, my family will have lived out here in Memphis for a full year!! Wow!! It's going by soooo fast!

Update on Memphis happenings

The people out here in the Memphis Gatehouse have been praying that God use us and show us what we are supposed to be doing out here. We have been asking God to bring the people to us that He wants us to talk to. For a while we prayed but nothing happened, but about three weeks ago, we have really been slammed with a bunch of things from God. We have had meetings at Ben and Toni's house every Tuesday night and having some really good talks with the people there, Memphis mom's ladies meetings every other Thursday morning at our house or at a park, meetings at our house with people from the village, Ben and Toni, and Thomas and Erica every Thursday night, a men's breakfast every other Saturday morning, and a Gathering every Sunday morning! It has been stressful I admit, but God has been with us every step of the way.
A couple mornings ago, Stephen, my brother-in-law who lives out here in the Gatehouse too, went next door to talk to some neighbors of ours. We've known them for a couple years now but have never really had any serious conversations about God. The day before Stephen went to talk, our next door neighbors lost a baby before it was born. They were devastated! So Stephen ended up talking with the dad for about an hour about all kinds of things concerning God and religion. There was a barrier between them that Stephen couldn't get down. After the talk he was pretty depressed because we love these neighbors and don't want them to totally close themselves off to us. We are praying that something happens with them to where we can see eye to eye.
People are sooo stuck in religion that they can't see God anymore. People believe that God doesn't talk to His people! God talked to His people in the Old Testament, why can't He talk to us now?!? He is the same, yesterday, today, and forever! If He did it then, He can most definitely do it now!! I hate it when people misunderstand each other because of religion and doctrine. God is one God! He wants one church! He wants The Church! Why does the world have sooo many different doctrines and religions? Why can't people just love each other like they were commanded to by God?

Anyway, that's just a little bit of an update. There's more to come when I next feel the urge to type. :)

Hawaii trip-Trusting in God

I have two older brothers who live in Hawaii. One is married and has one little girl, Aika, who is 14 months old. We have never seen her. :( My family, which now consists of my father, mother, little brother and myself, are trying to go there in early December. We tried to go in October but didn't have the money. My dad works at Fed Ex and he get benefits. One of them is that he gets a discount on plane tickets. We are using that one but still need about $350 per person. We have been praying and asking God for the money if it is His will for us to go there. Just last Saturday when we were in the village for my dad's second birthday party, we received half the money that we need to be able go! We are really excited and hope everything goes as planned.
God has been taking care of us in ways we could never have thought. We are learning to trust in Him and in Him alone for everything we need. It isn't as easy done as it is said. Sometimes I get frustrated with people when they say that I have to "trust in God" because I feel like they don't know what they're saying. They have no idea what I'm going through and may never really know. But it is God speaking to me through them and as much as I might hate it, I have to obey.

Food for sis

Yesterday when I was in the village I took some pictures of a bunch of fruits and veges for my sister for her blog. She is doing a blog with all her recipes. It is going to be pretty neat. She is like the most amazing baker, cook, dancer, singer...you name it! Anyway, if you would like to check out her blog just go to http://cooksinglive.wordpress.com/.
She is just getting started so give her some time and soon enough her blog will contain recipes for some of the most delicious foods ever made!! :)

Anyway, here are a few photos that I took for her yesterday...enjoy!
